Ibn Sina Medical Centre is an initiative by Peaceful Souls Foundation, a registered charitable organisation in the Republic of Mauritius. Since its inception in 2021, the Foundation has led many successful initiatives such as free clothing drives and a Community Food Programme, with regular food distribution to those in need.
Forthcoming projects include a food bank, alongside the clothes bank already established. The aim is to provide basic necessities to those who are unable to afford them, or are struggling with their day-to-day needs.
It was recognised that healthcare is also a basic need that is becoming less affordable or accessible, with a proportion of people occupying the large divide between public and private health services in Mauritius. Hence, the birth of Ibn Sina Medical Centre as an entity to cater for these people in particular.
